Project Description
The construction of Terminal 3 at Frankfurt Airport is one of the largest infrastructure projects in Europe. The state-of-the-art terminal expands the airport’s capacity by up to 19 million passengers per year and comprises the main terminal building (THG) as well as Piers G, H, and J. The sophisticated architecture and technical complexity require a high-performance in-house cellular network to ensure optimal coverage and communication.
Requirement
- Implementation of a comprehensive in-building mobile network with LTE and 5G, featuring MIMO-quality coverage and independent of any specific network operator
- Installation of over 1,000 in-building antennas to provide comprehensive coverage
- Installation of approximately 46,000 meters of coaxial cable
- Construction of 12 utility and service rooms
- Ensuring uninterrupted cellular service for passengers and staff
Scope of services
- Full implementation of the passive mobile infrastructure in accordance with network operator standards
- Conducting RF measurements, PIM tests, and quality assurance
- Documentation and Acceptance of the Mobile Communication System
