LTE expansion of the Commerzbank Tower Frankfurt am Main

Realisation of the in-house mobile network

In order to meet today's demands of constantly growing data traffic, many companies have to upgrade their in-house networks with LTE. This was also the case recently at Frankfurt's tallest building, the Commerzbank Tower.

FMBE was commissioned by Deutsche Telekom Technik to carry out a complete modernisation of the mobile network with GSM 900, UMTS and LTE 1800 over all 44 floors and both basement levels - and all this without interrupting business and office operations.
This involved a great deal of coordination and work in time windows. In addition, some of the work took place in sensitive customer areas where special access regulations had to be observed.

The realisation of the extensive project, which included project and construction management, network design, the installation of the passive mobile network as well as the system integration of the GSM base station and power supply system, was finally completed successfully by FMBE in October 2016.
